The so-called "walk 10,000 steps a day" is actually not rooted in science (source, source), but it is a nice goal and easy number to remember. I was averaging 3200 steps a day.
In my heart of hearts, I knew it was good for me to walk every day. But nothing in this world could motivate me to walk more. Not a thing. Until WHOOP came along and whooped my gorram arse.
Weightlifting 3x a week and running 2x a week are not enough, apparently. I still need to double my daily steps.
I got complacent because I'm constantly told I don't look my age. What a good reality check!! We may look okay on the outside, but we might not be okay on the inside.
I can't believe nothing in this world worked on me except frakkin' vanity.
So I've been "forcing" myself to walk 30 minutes every morning since Monday. Today is the fifth consecutive day. I hate it (because I'm a lazy arse) but can't argue with the results. I have been feeling better physically and mentally each day.
And it's weird, because making myself tired every day actually makes me less tired?!
AI Ad Kit dashboard
AI Ad Kit's dashboard is starting to take shape. Next week I'll make a waitlist signup page to gauge interest.
I have a degree in Marketing Management from University of Otago, New Zealand. I ran a successful restaurant for 13 years in Singapore, a brutally competitive market for F&B. I also ran a bakery for 7 of those years. I sold both businesses for 6 figures in 2019.
Then I taught myself to code, and have been working in software since. In 2021, I was hired as General Manager for a restaurant software startup, where I helped market and grow the app to $400k/year revenue.
On the side, I started building my own small projects, aimed at near-passive income. So began a 10,000-hour-long experiment to see if I can make $10k/month by "f*cking around and finding out". This blog is a daily record of the real hours spent & dollars earned.
